House Plan 1519 has been named The Fillion and is now available!

The Fillion is minimalist design at its best. The simple exterior is adorned with a shed dormer and board-and-batten on the front gable. The front entry opens to a great room that feels larger with a cathedral ceiling. Natural light visually expands this design, from the skylights in the kitchen and master bedroom to a thoughtfully placed sun tunnel. Separated from the secondary bedrooms, the master suite is private and accesses a rear deck.

Conceptual house plan 1519 is a simple design with a modest floor plan.

Conceptual design 1519 is an updated version of The Anderson house plan 395. This modest design has a simple, yet thoughtful exterior. Cedar shakes complement a siding exterior and a metal accent roof tops the front-facing shed dormer. A stone chimney adds character to the front façade and columns frame the porch. The compact footprint and narrow width, along with a front-entry garage, make this plan ideal for a small or narrow lot.

The floor plan doesn’t waste any space with the front porch opening directly to the great room. A fireplace and decorative beams create a cozy ambiance. The living space flows into an open dining room, topped with a tray ceiling, and an island kitchen with space for bar seating and skylights. A large window over the sink floods this space with natural light and provides rear views. A drop zone, with skylight above, is just inside the garage entry, keeping coats, bags, shoes and keys contained to a central location.

The master suite lives large with a decorative ceiling and access to the rear deck. Two walk-in closets and a linen closet provide ample storage and the master bathroom is truly luxurious with a dual-sink vanity, freestanding bathtub, and walk-in shower. Two additional bedrooms share a full bathroom with a double sink vanity. A utility room and pantry complete the first floor and an optional bonus room is upstairs for recreation, storage, or a future expansion.

I agree that the plan needs a foyer of some type. I once lived in a house in which you walked directly on to the living/great room, and we hated it.
I would also delete the soaking tub in the master bath in favor of more storage.
A skylight or 2 could brighten the middle of the living area.
