Love the house – love Mr. Gardner’s designs, in general.

But given you asked… there are a couple of things I’d want to take this great house into consideration as ideal for retirement:

    1. Tweak configuration between the master bath and laundry to allow for direct access.
    2. Offer an option to incorporate the ‘closet desk’ with the stairwell space if someone doesn’t want the optional over the garage space – turn it into a small efficient office, for example to allow out of sight and mind for computer, etc. without being in an actual closet.
    3. Offer an option where the master bath garden tub is removed – as you age, getting into a garden tub or any tub is difficult and takes up space that could otherwise be used for other important things.

Thank you for the opportunity to comment – I was engaged to a builder and I had a Dad who built homes so I’m always looking at plans with an eye toward efficiency of different demographics.
