Conceptual house plan 1504 is an update on The Padgett house plan 1124. This modern cottage mixes Craftsman elements for a warm and welcoming facade. A front-entry garage and narrow width makes this plan a versatile choice for many lot sizes.

The foyer entry offers a coat closet and opens directly into the great room. Windows frame the fireplace and a vaulted ceiling adds vertical space. A clerestory window brings in even more light and double doors open to a rear porch. The kitchen features a bar counter that looks out to the great room and the U-shape counter is open on one side and overlooks the dining room. A niche and bay window highlight this spacious dining area. The master suite is topped with a dramatic tray ceiling and offers dual closets. The master bathroom features a freestanding bathtub, walk-in shower and a dual sink vanity while skylights brighten the space.

The garage enters the home through a mud room with built-in cubbies for storage and a pantry is nearby. Two bedrooms share a full bathroom with a dual sink vanity and the utility room is conveniently close by. An optional bonus room is upstairs for a later expansion, storage, or additional square footage to meet the homeowners needs.

Love this house plan. I’d like to see a sink in the laundry room and an option for the rear porch to be screened in. I’d also prefer no dormer in the bonus room to simplify the roof line as I’d like to have a steel roof and windows on the left side of the front-most bedroom as I have nice views to the front, back and right sides.

When do you expect this house plan to be available?

Hi Paula, thank you for the feedback! We just released this as a conceptual design to get feedback. At this time, it has not been selected for completion. If we get a lot of positive feedback or if someone contacts us to order it, we will get it added to our schedule. If you are interesting in getting more information, contact us at 1-800-388-7580 or

I like everything about this plan, other than the front bedroom. It seems awkward in that it separates the garage from the entry porch. Do you have a similarly-sized house plan available (1600 or 1800 sf preferred, as we will be downsizing), with a two car garage, front porch, back screen porch, and 3 bedrooms? Preferably 1 story, with full basement, and a bonus room over garage?
