Whimsical Front Elevation - Conceptual Design #1362

Conceptual Design #1362 features a whimsical, European-style exterior with cupolas, curves, and an eyebrow dormer over the side-entry garage. Coffered ceilings top the dining room and great room, which are separated by the kitchen with an expansive island and breakfast nook for casual meals. Nearby, a large utility room with a view and flexible live/work space simplify house work and projects. The secondary bedrooms share a Jack-and-Jill bath and the master suite has dual walk-in closets, a fully-appointed bath, and porch access. Enjoy the outdoors on the covered porch, patio, and screened porch with summer kitchen and fireplace. This plan also accommodates a bonus room over the garage.

I’ve been looking at this plan on the drawing board for some time. I LOVE the exterior. It looks like a quaint English cottage, which is exactly what I’m looking for. To me, this floor plan looks very similar to the Bellavita.

Ideally, I’d love to see this home offered at 1900-2200 sq ft, something more conservative than the estimated 2,700 sq ft. The Bellavita comes in around 2,300.

One way that I thought to reduce the square footage would to be to extend the screen porch into the flex space. Having a large screened area is very important to be because I plan on hosting a lot of family BBQs. Instead of having a full bath, I’d change it to a 1/4 bath. I’d love to see a walk-in pantry also.

For the Master Bedroom, 15′ X 15′ would be a nice size. The sizing of the secondary bedrooms is good and I like the jack-n-jill bath. I like that the laundry room is separate from the garage entry.

Overall, this plan has a great open, entertaining layout, especially for outdoor gatherings. I can’t wait to see the finish product.

Really like this plan!! Favorite components of this plan:
    1. Large screened porch with kitchen. That is a great size!
    2. Flex space-for our maturing family that room can change as our needs change. It can be a playroom, game room, bedroom for an aging parent, etc.
    3. The open concept works well. I like the design of the kitchen, how it is connected to both the great room and dining areas.
    Possible areas I would change:
    1. Larger pantry
    2. Walkin closets in bedrooms
    3. Would prefer a craftsman exterior, but that’s just my preference
