The Porter – Home Plan 1400

This home plan offers an Old World, European exterior. The modern floorplan features a single dining area, ideal for rear views. The great room, kitchen and dining room are open for exceptional traffic flow. A spacious storage closet in the garage is perfect for outdoor equipment and the nearby utility room has a sink for easy cleanup before entering the main house. Conceptual Design #1400 is a single story Country plan that was originally inspired by the Bluestone Plan #1302. The courtyard entry garage includes plenty of storage space and a personnel door for easy access. The great room and dining room are positioned for rear views around the large country kitchen, with a pantry, e-space, and linen closet nearby. An oversized utility room features work and storage space, and keeps the walkway clear between the garage and the rest of the home. The master suite includes dual walk-in closets and a corner shower, while two secondary bedrooms share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom. Covered and screened porches take living outdoors.

  1. As the GC/Owner on this house to be built, it looking at the side views, the conceptual plans have a 2-3 ft inset on both sides. (bedroom 2 & Master) For siding reasons, wouldn’t that be better as a straight wall for left/right sides along with extending at back porch the same way, making MB a larger room as well. That way numerous cuts don’t have to be make and waste of siding as well.

  2. What is the sq footage on this and is it complete now. Any other plans with a similar floor plan as this? We like the big kitchen and Greatroom but need to order soon but don’t want to order without seeing the final version.

    1. Hi Pam, Plan #1400 is approximately 2557 sq ft. We do not have a scheduled completion date yet but you can order this design and get it moved up on the schedule.   4. I really love this floor plan and am anxious to see rear elevation. If we were to build, I would eliminate garden tub and make shower bigger in Mbath. I would remove kitchen wall by great room and have stools there. Unlike Echo, we would pull dining exterior wall in because we wouldn’t need that much space and it blocks our lake view to the west. Thanks for sharing!

  5. This can be a great looking plan if you remove the two bays from the bonus room. Will provide a much cleaner look. If possible, I would add 2-3 feet to te back of the dining room if the backside elevation permits that. What are the overall dimensions. Overall nice plan.

I would love to down size and would love to see this plan modified by removing bath #1 and making 2 walk in closets, making bedroom #2 closet into a 1/2 bath, removing small closet in bedroom #1, flipping closet door in study to be a coat closet, and enlarge bath #2 to double sink and full tub/extend garage wall and would be PERFECT!!! I am so ready to build this beauty!

  7. I struggle finding a plan where the kitchen has a wall of tall windows above the sink. Honestly I think this plan is beautiful. I would swap the kitchen and dining room though. Most kitchens are tucked right in the middle of the house. So much time is spent in them niceto have the windows and light. But really like this plan!

  8. I would like to see bath 1 removed and the bedrooms a little larger, with more closet space. Make bath 2 larger, with a large shower, 2 sinks, tub, and lots of storage that 2 children could share by using most of the study/bedroom space at front of house. Have a front door closet at the front door side of study/bedroom space that’s left over. Try to get more closet space at garage entry into mud room without sacrificing utility room space (add more sq ft). Make sure master bath and closet are large. It’s good to see a large garage, most are small.
