Conceptual Design 1466 is an updated version of The Clearlake plan 1272. This sprawling ranch is wrapped in stone and board-and-batten siding while an efficient roof is topped with a unique clerestory dormer.

Modern and open, the great room and dining room are combined and clerestory windows to the front and rear flood this space with natural light. The kitchen overlooks the living spaces and a wet bar and pantry are nearby. The garage enters the home through a hallway framed in modern windows that run floor-to-ceiling. A coat vestibule with bench is available for dropped bags, shoes, and coats, keeping clutter contained. The bedroom/study serves as an office or guest room with an en-suite bath and a walk-in closet.

The master suite is private with sliding doors that open to a rear patio. The master bathroom and walk-in closet are designed for two. Homeowners will love the adjacent utility room that can be accessed from the master closet, as well as the hallway. Two additional bedroom share a luxury Jack-and-Jill bathroom and a half bath is convenient for guests.

    What an excellent plan, great layout and separation. Just one question though, is it possible to extend the clerestory windows to include the kitchen, have some concern about not having enough natural light in that space.

    Loose the U shaped kitchen. Open it up with a nice large island. Separate vanities in master bath and add linen closet. What are the dimensions of the front and back porches? There can never be enough covered or screened areas in Texas!

    Nice 1-Story plan. Efficient use of spaces with nice features, wet bar, walk-in pantry, guest/kids wing, study/Second master, mud room, laundry, outdoor living. Suspect views from inside the home would be great. Great design lines. I like walkout basements, but could not see where the stairs would fit in to modify current concept. Also, agree that the kitchen could be bigger with an island, but that would difficult. Keep up the good work.

    Love the pass-thru laundry and the overall layout. Only change I would make would have to be a formal foyer area. Don’t like people being able to see straight into my house from the front door.

    I love the plan. Would prefer separate vanities in master as well as separate his and her closets. Also what about angling the wing with garage making the front more impressive

    Love the floor plan but need a 3 car garage which would make that side extremely long. Wish there was a way to reconfigure that side to keep everything but shorten it. Wish the bathroom near the garage had hallway access. Would move master all the way to the right to improve kitchen back view — I would be building it on a lake.

    Like the open and urban concept with 2 masters, as well as an opening to the back patio from the master. Love the floor to ceiling windows and the outdoor living spaces. Would love to see a bigger chef’s kitchen as well as a 3 car garage and overall more square footage. Ideally somewhere between 3,500-4,000 square feet. Love, love, love the floor to ceiling windows!!! The more the better especially on the back of the home!

    I wish the kitchen was wider and you didn’t have to walk through the master bathroom to get to the closets. Interested to see how the clerestory windows will impact the interior, especially for TV viewing.

    Love, love this floor plan but I would move those two bedrooms with the Jack and Jill bath to the upstairs over the kitchen, master, and study area and put a wrap around porch in their place. Then those bedrooms would be great for when the grand kids come over. I think I need this one for myself.

    Overall, I think this is a plan that will work for many different types of home buyers. Appreciate the two separate bedroom areas, plus the master suite area. Also, like the back openness for enjoyment of the outside. Really enjoy the style of the house, especially the clerestory.

    Not sure the kitchen works for me with the small “U” shape, even though it is open to the great room area. Would rather have it more open. Also, would wish that the bathroom by the garage would open to the hallway, to wash off from outside or bathe animals.
