The Waylon  – Home Plan 1414

Multiple gables adorn this hillside walkout and cedar shakes and timber details serve as rustic accents. An island kitchen is open to the great room and shares a cathedral ceiling with the dining room. A walk-in pantry is nearby and an oversized utility room is multi-functional. The master suite and study complete the first floor while two bedrooms, a full bath, and rec room are downstairs.

Conceptual Design 1414: This home plan is a derivative of our highly popular plan, The Satchwell #967. We have taken the one-story design and modified it to have a hillside walkout basement. It has the same Craftsman exterior with graceful arches and high gables that we all know and love. We kept the master suite and bedroom/study the same. The great room now opens to an rear porch instead of a screened-in porch. The screened porch is still available, just in a different location on the first floor. The design has been modernized with a single dining space and the basement stairs take the place of the dining room.

Home Plan 1414 - First floor plan

First floor plan. House Dimensions – Approx. 68′ x 67′

The two additional bedrooms are moved to the basement level along with a game/media room, a bar, and plenty of unfinished square footage. With the bedrooms off the first floor, this space is opened up for a larger utility room with side porch access. Homeowners no longer enter the home through the utility room and a spacious pantry was added. An upstairs bonus room is also available as a flexible space.

Plan is perfect. Closest thing to what we have in mind after reviewing hundreds of plans. Would just like to know about when it will be available.

This is perfect. We were originally considering the Butler Ridge, and as much as we love it, it really is a bit too much. We are entering the empty nest zone, and this is just about perfect! The only thing I like that you changed was on the original sketch of the ground floor. I liked the bathroom placement and linen closet together on that drawing. And we would need it in reverse. As soon as this is done, we will be purchasing it!

    Thanks, Cathy

I like this plan! Is there room for a 1/2 bath somewhere on the main level other than the bath off the study. When can I purchase this plan in a form suitable for construction in NH. Thank you, Tom Mullen

Love the craftsman exterior. This plan would work perfectly on the land we are planning to build on. When will this plan be available?

Functional retirement home. Well thought out areas. Hard to find a plan that is compact and spacious. Excellent!

Finally a plan that has only one extra bedroom on the first floor with optional lower level bedrooms. Love mud room exterior entrance. Perfect for letting the dog out! Would open up kitchen and eliminate cabinets with range. Would opt out for optional bonus room and move pantry closer to kitchen entrance with garage entrance where stairs are now. Old pantry becomes drop zone or closet. Perfect for us empty nesters!

    Love the floor plan!
Would like a lower pitched roof for saving costs, and therefore lower ceilings with some exposed beams in the living areas. Also, I would add a real fireplace on the screen porch since I’m using this as a lake house. I look forward to seeing the final draft.

I love this plan! For someone that doesn’t need or want a screened in porch, that area could easily be converted into an office or spare room. Great job!
