House Plans Blog - National Magazine Selects Local Couple for "Reality Home Building" Feature

Greenville couple Mike and Patti Bacon have been selected for At Home with Donald A. Gardner^TM magazine’s fourth annual Reality Home Building feature. The Bacons chose a Donald A. Gardner design, the Lujack, plan 1043, for their new home. Residents of Greenville for over 30 years, the Bacons chose to build their new, downsized dream home since their two daughters have moved out on their own. DSR Builders, Inc. of Greer is the builder on the project and will be featured alongside the Bacons in the magazine.

The Reality Home Building feature will follow the Bacons through the process of building their new home from framing to move-in. At Home with Donald A. Gardner^TM — a home plan magazine with national distribution – will document the process in three installments during 2008. Each installment will feature tips for those thinking of building their own home, photos of the construction process and advice from the builder and future homeowners. The Reality Home Building series in At Home with Donald A. Gardner^TM began in the Spring 2005 issue and has followed three other families through the process of building a Donald A. Gardner home.
